Vaishampayana continued narration to Janamejaya in reply to his queries as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kauravas and Pandavas had arranged for the Mahabharata war in Kurukshetra separately in two large camps with their own huge army troops.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who was Uluka?\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Uluka was the son of Shakuni. He was young, energetic and very clever. In Sanskrit, Uluka means fox. Uluka was residing with his father Shakuni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was the message sent to Yudhistira through Uluka from Duryodhana?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Duryodhana had sent Uluka as his messenger, with the declaration of war. The wordings used were full of insulting the Pandava brothers, and there was no respect for Krishna. It was like a challenge for Yudhishtira. Yudhishtira had also added to it with befitting words for his dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was the simple reply of Krishna given to Uluka on behalf of Pandavas?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The contents of Krishna were very simple. He will bring the chariot of Arjuna and other Pandavas would be coming prepared for facing his war challenge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Bhima replied to Uluka?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Bhima replied to Uluka in a casual manner. Bhima was not afraid of Dushasana. Bhima would decorate the hairs of Draupadi with the intestines of Dushasana in the war field itself in order to fulfill his vow. Uluka had returned with this reply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was done by Uluka finally?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Uluka had returned to the Palace of Duryodhana from the war camp of Yudhishtira. He had completed his duties as an efficient messenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Karna responded to Duryodhana\u2019s orders?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Karna told to Duryodhana as long as Bhishma would be in the active war field, he would not be participating in the war but always help to protect the Palace as security in charge for his throne and life body guard of Duryodhana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thus for the initial ten days of Mahabharata war, Karna was in Hastinavati as a reserve for the army troops of Duryodhana. He worked for routine administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Next post, Mahabharat: Rathatiratha-Sankhya Parva would be more
