Vaishampayana continued narration to Janamejaya in reply to his queries as follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why did Yudhishtira repent on the banks of River Bhagirathi?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira had repented and fallen unconscious on the banks of River Bhagirathi since he had thought he was resp[onsible for the bloodshed in the war. Karna was his elder brother but he was killed. Shalya was his uncle, but along with many friends and relatives, had been killed in the war. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira would become the emperor but many people lost their lives during the war. After sprinkling water, he recovered. Bhima and Arjuna had escorted him to uplift and sit on the ground. He was telling war was bad and he desired to go for penance, and that he would go to the forests again.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who was Devasthana Muni and how did he pacify Yudhishtira?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Devasthana Muni was a silent Rishi. He was not talking when Duryodhana was ruling since he had no freedom of speech then. He disliked Duryodhana. He pacified Yudhishtira, by starting his speech. When the king engages in peaceful administration, his sorrows would vanish. War and defense were unavoidable for the protection of the wealth of the kingdom, he consoled him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was told by Narada Muni about Karna\u2019s failures?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Karna had failed since he deserved it. Karna had done sinful actions. He had killed a calf of a Rishi during his youth. He told a lie to get admission for his education. In his previous life, he had fought with Nara and Narayana as a demon unnecessarily. And it was Karna who was really ruling for the last thirteen years.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why was Griha Parva omitted in many versions of Mahabharata?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira had met Dritarashtra on the way to Hastinavati Palace after the war, on the nineteenth day morning. Since Krishna had already informed the fall of Duryodhana, on the previous day night, Dritarashtra with Gandhari and Kunti along with the team of ladies started to visit the battlefield at Kurukshetra, by chariots. They got down from their chariots and greeted on their mid-way. With Krishna, they visited the battlefield and all returned to the Hastinavati Palace later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Hastinavati Palace, Kripa had arranged to receive all of them. Kripa had crowned Yudhishtira and Dhaumya had helped him to install Yudhishtira to the throne as emperor. With the blessings of Krishna, Dhaumya, Dritarashtra and all deserving guests, Yudhishtira started his administration with his brothers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In many versions of Mahabharata, Griha parva was omitted by many editors, since Yudhishtira was already crowned during the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gomangala.com\/index.php\/2023\/03\/14\/mahabharat-rajasuya-yaga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rajasuyayaga<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>at Indraprastha and no separate palace was desired by Yudhirshtira. He used to live in the Palace of Dritarashtra. Kunti was serving Gandhari. Yudhishtira was very sympathetic with Dritarashtra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next fifteen years after the war, Dritarashtra and Gandhari lived with Yudhishtira and Kunti with content and happiness. Dritarashtra openly praised the rule of Yudhishtira in the assembly as he was leading a happier life than when Duryodhana was ruling. People were also very happy under the rule of Yudhishtira, since Dritarashtra was then the real emperor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Draupadi was living in the treasury room of the same Palace. She was able to deal all financial matters as fit for an emperor. Her financial administration capacities were already described in the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gomangala.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/08\/mahabharat-rajasuyarambha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rajasuyarambha parva<\/a><\/em><\/strong> of this website.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After the war, how was the treasury room inaugurated by Draupadi?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira had recovered all the gems and jewels lost by him during the dice game. After the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gomangala.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/16\/mahabharat-gadhayuddha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gadayuddha<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, Bhima had entered Duryodhana\u2019s army camps and collected back their gems and jewels lost during the dice games and handed over to his elder brother, Yudhishtira. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thirteen years back, they were stocked in the Palace, under the custody of Draupadi at Indraprastha. After the war, Yudhishtira had entrusted them back to Draupadi with Uttarakumari. So the treasury room of the emperor was inaugurated by Draupadi.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arjuna was taking care of the defense system and all the artilleries were stocked at his palace and kept under custody of Subhadra. Arjuna was always respecting Bhima.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was the message of Yudhistira about war?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira had announced the message that the war has ended on the eighteenth day. Personally, he felt the war as a bad consequence. For him, always peace was desirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What was the role of Kripa under Yudhistira after the war?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira had assumed the charges of an emperor of Hastinavati, when Kripa had crowned him. Later, Vidura had written the law book called as Vidura Neethi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What did Yudhishtira do on the second day after the war?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the house of Arjuna, after the war, Krishna with Satyaki had slept as guests on the first night after war peacefully and very happily.\u00a0 On the second day, in the early morning, Krishna and Satyaki had freshened up. After morning food, Krishna had ordered Satyaki to ready his chariot to visit Yudhishtira. Satyaki informed Daruka to prepare the chariot for Krishna for the morning journey to the main Palace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Krishna with Satyaki had visited the Palace of Yudhishtira. On the open verandah of the palace of Yudhishtira, Krishna was sitting wearing his glittering crown. Then, Yudhishtira had immediately come out of his palace, praising Krishna joyfully. It was Draupadi rising early in the morning. She was the last to sleep in the Palace. She started the preliminary works with the help of Uttarakumari, for the Pandavas&#8217; Ashwamedha yaga. She was using the treasury room and accountable for gold, silver, gems and jewelries.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where was Uttarakumari residing after the war?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After the war, Uttarakumari was helping Draupadi and residing with her.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where was Yuyutsu residing after the war?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yuyutsu, after the war, had occupied his own old house as usual. He had been appointed as the King at Indraprastha under Yudhishtira later. So Yuyutsu had shifted his permanent residence to Indraprastha palace previously built by Krishna and Arjuna. His old palace was renovated and used as Royal guest house at Hastinavathi. The old Indraprastha palace was also renovated and he used it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How did Arjuna honor the son of Karna?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Vrishaketu was a small child and he was the son of Karna. Arjuna was very sorry for killing Karna. Arjuna had educated him and crowned him as the king of Anga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How did Yudhishtira controll the dice game after the war?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yudhishtira had nominated Draupadi for the control of the treasury room since he thought the dice game should not be encouraged since it had led to the death of kings like Virata, Shakuni with their sons.
