The most essential book in a nation for the smooth and satisfactory administration is the Constitution of that nation. The purpose of endeavor of the administrators is to allow all people to live happily, be with good health and visualize around with a feeling of secured scenario and never sustain sorrows. Shreemad Bhagavatha Purana, the ancient Indian book upholds these values:

सर्वेऽपि सुखिनः सन्तु सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः ।
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु मा कस्चिद्दुःखमाप्नुयात् ॥

Protect The Innocent

One day, King Pareekshit was tired after hunting in the forest. In search of a place to rest, he walked under trees and found a Rishi performing penance. The Rishi was sitting with closed eyes, concentrating in meditation and could not recognize the king. The king also found a piece of skin abandoned by a snake in the nearby bush and after lifting it gently managed to put it on the shoulder of the Rishi like a garland. He enjoyed the mischievous actions and was about to move away. By then, the son of the Rishi also came there to learn more about the performance of meditation and found the insult that had happened to his father. The young boy felt too much in his heart. He cursed death to the sinner king, saying, in future, innocents should not be punished.

The king understood his mistakes. But it was too late and within a week, he would die. Now the king also wanted a remedy. He met with a learned person and consulted him. That learned person understood the reason for the mistakes committed by this king and explained the importance of the constitution book. The king, under fear of death that would happen within a week, begged him to explain in full about the texts of that book, which is nothing but Shreemad Bhagavatha Purana, which contains the biography of Krishna with multiple chapters describing various items on administrations and the most suitable constitution for any nation, available for all times. Hence the king started hearing Bhagavatha daily, part by part. He had devotion to Krishna. It is further narrated in separate chapters in this website and only items related to the importance of constitution of a nation could be seen in this particular article.

The king is responsible for any events in his country. The basic duty is to protect the constituents and punish the delinquents. In Sanskrit, Pareekshit is a word derived from combination of two words, examined and decided. Later, the code of conduct for administration was made available which is called Manu Smrithi. The period marking start of Kali yuga and rebirth of Dharma has been attempted. In due course, another Rishi Yajnavalkya has written another Smrithi and subsequently, a few more books like, Bhrigu smrithi, Parashara smrithi are available. All these books contain the details for the smooth conduct of works of the rulers of the contemporary period.

Basic Structure Supports Protection of Dharma

The advisor should be capable of wisely complementing all required fields, the executor should be equipped with all the required tools and related commodities, then only the law could sustain and victory in the war field of Dharma happens, which is narrated by Vyasa  as follows:

यत्र योगीश्वरःकृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धरः ।
तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिर्धृवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम ॥

Republic of India is blessed to have an exemplary constitution. The architects of this book of code of conduct, called Constitution of India, always deserve high appreciations. The judiciary and executive are always complementary to the proceedings of the law making bodies. Due to democracy set up in India, people are having the ideal premises as stated in the starting verse of this article. This atmosphere is further ensured by the Constitution of India, by amendments.

As per requirements during administrations, the represented members could suitably decide the amendments for the smooth functioning of the society. The basic features are always safeguarded. This happens so because, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar while drafting it has studied all the good essence of clauses from various other books of constitutions of advanced countries, such as Japan, UK and USA.
